The Crazy Train Collaborative is a unique family theatre experience. We place high value on working to achieve a collective goal while growing our family relationships through art. We are seeking families who would like to join us on an adventure this summer!
All participants must have a family member present at auditions, and at each rehearsal they attend. This family collaborator can be a parent, child, sibling, aunt, uncle, cousin, in-law, grandparent…any family member!
Collaborators under 16 must have an adult family member present at all rehearsals they attend. Collaborators 16+ may participate alongside a family member of any age.
We understand that this model is a little unusual. The roots of this family community theatre project run back to 1987, when our family first discovered the joy of making theatre art together. This is a rare opportunity to set aside time with your loved ones to work together and create a satisfying end result.
The performance of a show is the beautiful final product of hard work and collaboration between artists and technicians. To create a great show, we need rehearsed performers onstage, but an army of technicians to make behind-scenes magic.
At rehearsals, performers will work on singing and dancing, while family collaborators will work on various aspects of production. There is a job for everyone, and a lot of room for creativity!
We will have a group discussion and Q&A with all collaborators at the beginning of auditions, then at the first few rehearsals. Open communication is essential to successful collaboration.
We can’t wait to create something awesome with you!
